As we wrap up the third quarter of 2026, Deutsche Aircraft continues to reach major milestones across certification, industrialisation and organisational growth.

Q3 marks an important transition in the journey of the D328eco® programme, anchored by the official opening of the Leipzig Final Assembly Line and the successful landing gear certification campaign. These cornerstone achievements demonstrate our sustained momentum towards production readiness and future aircraft deliveries.

A New Chapter for German Aviation: Leipzig Final Assembly Line Opens

In September, we celebrated a defining moment for the German aerospace industry with the official inauguration of our D328eco Final Assembly Line at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Representing an investment of more than €100 million, the facility establishes Leipzig as the production home of the D328eco.

Spanning 60,500 square metres and designed to support the production of up to 48 aircraft annually, the FAL includes the assembly line, flight readiness hangar, logistics centre and administrative headquarters. The facility will generate up to 350 highly skilled jobs, contributing significantly to the regional and national aerospace ecosystem.

Developed as a modern, digital and climate-conscious manufacturing site, the FAL integrates automated logistics systems, paperless production processes, photovoltaic installations and energy-efficient technologies that reflect our commitment to sustainable aerospace manufacturing.

Landing Gear Certification: Flight-Test Phase Begins

One of the most significant achievements this quarter was the successful completion of the Low-Speed Taxi (LST) and High-Speed Taxi (HST) test campaigns, followed by the first phase of flight testing for the D328eco landing gear certification programme.

Conducted using a legacy D328® as a flying testbed, these first flights achieved every objective, validating the maturity and performance of one of the aircraft's most critical systems.

By retaining full IP ownership and design authority over the landing gear, Deutsche Aircraft ensures greater supply chain resilience and seamless lifecycle management for both existing D328 operators and future D328eco customers. We will continue our collaborations with our partner HEGGEMANN where we will further showcase our testing capabilities for the D328eco landing gear development.

Strategic Partnerships: Acron Aviation Joins the D328eco Programme

In July, Deutsche Aircraft signed a long-term partnership with Acron Aviation to supply advanced flight recorder and standby system solutions for the D328eco programme. This collaboration supports the integration of advanced technologies that enhance safety, reliability and operational performance to meet the evolving needs of operators around the globe.

Looking Ahead

As we enter the final quarter of 2026, our focus remains on flight testing, accelerating certification activities, ramping up for serial production and expanding our global network of customers, operators, suppliers and strategic partners.

With key certification milestones checked off, production infrastructure now operational, and a growing ecosystem supporting the programme, Deutsche Aircraft is building real momentum towards bringing the D328eco to market.
