Deutsche Aircraft Quarterly Newsletter Q3/2025

As we close the third quarter of 2025, I’m pleased to share the developments we’ve made at Deutsche Aircraft. From advancing sales campaigns and strengthening our supply chain to deepening strategic partnerships and growing our team, we’re making steady progress towards bringing the D328eco® to market. This momentum is driven by the dedication of our people and the support of our partners. Thank you for your continued commitment.

Expanding the Global Presence of the D328eco

We’ve increased engagement in key markets, showcasing the D328eco’s commercial and multi-role capabilities. Its efficiency, versatility and sustainability continue to attract operators, particularly in North America and Africa.

  • Africa: With rising passenger demand and a need for modern regional aircraft, Africa is primed for a new era of connectivity. We sponsored AviaDev in Zanzibar in June and participated in the Aviation AFRICA Summit & Exhibition in Kigali in September, highlighting the short-field performance and adaptability of the D328eco.
  • North America: At the Regional Airline Association Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. (17–19 September), we presented the D328eco as a solution to rising costs, pilot shortages and aging fleets.
  • Multi-Role Presence: During DSEI UK in September, we showcased the D328MR, our multi-mission-ready platform derived from the D328eco, and explored new collaborations in the defence and special mission sectors.

We welcomed Markus Hahner as our new Sales Director for Multi-Role Aircraft. His expertise in defence and security will be crucial as we expand our presence in this domain.

Forging a Global Supply Chain

This quarter, we strengthened our global supply chain with strategic partnerships to ensure the D328eco meets our goals for efficiency, sustainability and performance, including the following collaborations:

  • We inaugurated the D328eco Forward Fuselage Assembly Line in Brazil with Akaer, a leader in aerospace and defence innovation. Akaer will lead the production of our forward fuselage, strengthening the shift development to industrialisation for the D328eco.
  • Hutchinson was selected to design, develop and manufacture the Primary Insulation and Low-Pressure Air Ducting System, a crucial step in ensuring our aircraft is efficient, environmentally responsible and comfortable for passengers.
  • We expanded our partnership with Triumph Group with their Cable Control Systems Division now supplying the Gust Lock system for the D328eco. This builds on their existing role as the manufacturer of the Precooler system for the engine.
  • We entered the testing phase of our SAF-ready fuel system with Test-Fuchs. This partnership underscores our firm commitment to support the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel from entry into service.
  • We also formed a key partnership with Canadian firm Rasakti, global experts in aerospace manufacturing, for the provision of specialised tooling and ground support equipment for our PW127XT-S engine.

Ground Vibration Test Completed

Together with the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), we successfully completed the Ground Vibration Test on our D328® UpLift demonstrator, validating structural dynamics with 237 sensors and more than 20 excitation points. This milestone confirms the integrity of our design to support future modifications.

Expanding Operations

We officially opened a new office in Berlin, strengthening our ties with key stakeholders in Germany’s political centre and allowing our team to play an active role in shaping future aviation policy.

Visible Progress at Our Final Assembly Line in Leipzig

Construction of our Final Assembly Line in Leipzig is visibly progressing. Roofing work will begin shortly and we remain on track to move into the first building by December 2025.

Looking Ahead

Our focus remains on advancing the D328eco programme, from ground and system testing to the completion of our Final Assembly Line. With our dedicated team and the support of our partners, we are confident about achieving our next milestones.

The progress we’ve made this quarter is a testament to what we can achieve with a shared vision. I’m proud of the dedication and innovation of our teams. Let’s continue to build on this momentum and shape the future of regional aviation together.

Warmest regards,

Nico Neumann

About the data:
- Source: Cirium
- Schedules data: full year 2019 vs. 2020 – excludes non-scheduled flying
- In-service data:
- For 2019 the data is dated April while for 2020 it’s dated October. We wanted to compare “shoulder month” to shoulder month, however April 2020 wouldn’t have captured the immediate impact of Coronavirus as our dataset classes aircraft as in storage after 3 months of inactivity.

DA Latest News in a Nutshell

New talent appointed to strengthen the Deutsche aircraft programme

As part of its continued support of Deutsche Aircraft’s D328eco aircraft programme, 328 Support Services GmbH recently appointed a panel of “talent experts” to further strengthen the overall team and ensure strong management structure and processes are in place across the D328eco development programme. Today we focus on the Engineering & Programme departments.

On the programme side, Mr. Peter Spyrka has been appointed Director of Programmes. Peter brings over 20 years’ experience in the global aerospace industry with engineering & development works on both civil and military aircraft programmes. Prior to joining Deutsche Aircraft, Peter worked at Airbus, leading the Hybrid Electric Propulsion System development programme for demonstrator projects. He also worked for Fairchild Dornier back in the late 1990’s.

In Engineering, Mr. Jean-Damien Mazeau has been appointed as our new Head of Propulsion Systems. Jean-Damien also brings more than 20 years’ aeronautical experience to Deutsche Aircraft, having built most of his career at Airbus. He was most recently involved with the A320neo’s entry into service, in charge of propulsion system’s global technical Support.

Last but not least, Dr. Stefan Brunner brings more than two decades of expertise and experience to his position as Head of Airframe. Throughout his career, Stefan spent more than 17 years working directly for the Airbus group where he was heavily involved with a wide variety of major engineering programmes on both commercial aviation and defence & space programmes. In his new role, Stefan will be responsible for design, analysis and modification of the D328eco airframe’s primary structure (Fuselage, Fairings, Wing, Empennage), as well as establishing new processes and procedures to complete aircraft development. Finally, he is responsible for ensuring compliance with the European Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations.

In addition to Peter, Jean Damien and Stefan, we are also proud to announce that we have been busy hiring new talent from not only within Germany, but from all over the world. Coming from a variety of companies within the aerospace industry, we look forward to utilising our new team members’ skills and expertise to achieve the entry into service scheduled for 2025.

All are great assets to the current Engineering & Programme team and will, without a doubt, help support Deutsche Aircraft’s development programme over the coming years.
