Deutsche Aircraft Quarterly Newsletter Q2/2025

This quarter has been nothing short of transformative for us, defined by significant advancements and successful events. To begin, I’m honoured to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Aircraft. It’s a privilege to lead our incredible international team as we build the future of regional aviation.

My sincere thanks go to Dave Jackson, a true mentor and visionary whose leadership over the past 19 years has transformed this company into what it is today. His guidance and friendship have been instrumental to my growth and I’m grateful that he’ll continue to support us as CEO of Deutsche Aircraft Group.

I am pleased to share the highlights of Q2.

Official TAC 1 Roll Out

We achieved a significant milestone in May with the roll out of TAC 1, the first prototype of the D328eco®. Held at our headquarters in Oberpfaffenhofen, we unveiled our next-generation 40-seater turboprop. Building on the Dornier technology and heritage, the D328eco will revolutionise regional aviation with enhanced efficiency, performance and environmental responsibility. This roll out is a significant step from development to industrialisation.

Paris Air Show 2025

Deutsche Aircraft proudly participated in the 2025 International Paris Air Show, presenting the D328eco mock-up which offered interactive simulations and virtual reality demonstrations of the cockpit. Attendees had the exclusive opportunity to discover the aircraft’s innovative features, including its modern, ergonomic cabin, and learn more about the roadmap toward certification and entry into service.

We also unveiled the cutting-edge Garmin G5000® PRIME integrated flight deck for our D328eco, a modern, touchscreen-based cockpit environment offering a pilot-centric design with advanced automation, enhanced situational awareness and global airspace compliance. This flight deck combines Garmin’s extensive avionics expertise with Deutsche Aircraft’s focus on an efficient and sustainable aircraft platform.

During the Paris Air Show, we announced a crucial partnership with Aernnova as the supplier for the empennage of our regional aircraft, providing the composite horizontal and vertical stabilisers, along with the metallic tail cone. With this collaboration, we’ve secured 100% of our primary structure partners for serial production.

We are also proud to continue our long-standing collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Canada. The next-generation PW127XT-S engine brings enhanced efficiency, reliability and sustainability to the heart of our turboprop. Together, we’re advancing regional aviation with smarter technologies that promise up to 15% better fuel efficiency, lower maintenance costs and readiness for 100% SAF with no aromatics.

During the Paris Air Show, we also established a strategic partnership with AERODATA AG to develop a German and European special mission platform to strengthen intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities. With its robust design and adaptability, the D328eco is an ideal platform for supporting national security needs, in combination with Aerodata’s state-of-the-art mission management system.

Cornerstone Ceremony for Final Assembly Line

At the end of April, Deutsche Aircraft celebrated a significant milestone by laying the cornerstone for the D328eco Final Assembly Line at Leipzig/Halle Airport, marking the return of regional aircraft manufacturing to Germany after 20 years. This new facility, set to be completed by the end of 2025, will include a manufacturing plant, commissioning hangar, logistics centre and administrative building, and is projected to create 250 new jobs.

Outlook

As we transition into the second half of 2025, our focus remains clear: finalising our carbon-neutral Final Assembly Line in Leipzig, continuing to strengthen our partnerships, and performing extensive ground and system testing as well as power on with engines for the TAC 1 aircraft, as we prepare for our first flight test campaign. I look forward to sharing the journey of Deutsche Aircraft with you as we progress toward the entry into service of the D328eco.

Warmest regards,

Nico Neumann

CEO of Deutsche Aircraft

About the data:
- Source: Cirium
- Schedules data: full year 2019 vs. 2020 – excludes non-scheduled flying
- In-service data:
- For 2019 the data is dated April while for 2020 it’s dated October. We wanted to compare “shoulder month” to shoulder month, however April 2020 wouldn’t have captured the immediate impact of Coronavirus as our dataset classes aircraft as in storage after 3 months of inactivity.

DA Latest News in a Nutshell

New talent appointed to strengthen the Deutsche aircraft programme

As part of its continued support of Deutsche Aircraft’s D328eco aircraft programme, 328 Support Services GmbH recently appointed a panel of “talent experts” to further strengthen the overall team and ensure strong management structure and processes are in place across the D328eco development programme. Today we focus on the Engineering & Programme departments.

On the programme side, Mr. Peter Spyrka has been appointed Director of Programmes. Peter brings over 20 years’ experience in the global aerospace industry with engineering & development works on both civil and military aircraft programmes. Prior to joining Deutsche Aircraft, Peter worked at Airbus, leading the Hybrid Electric Propulsion System development programme for demonstrator projects. He also worked for Fairchild Dornier back in the late 1990’s.

In Engineering, Mr. Jean-Damien Mazeau has been appointed as our new Head of Propulsion Systems. Jean-Damien also brings more than 20 years’ aeronautical experience to Deutsche Aircraft, having built most of his career at Airbus. He was most recently involved with the A320neo’s entry into service, in charge of propulsion system’s global technical Support.

Last but not least, Dr. Stefan Brunner brings more than two decades of expertise and experience to his position as Head of Airframe. Throughout his career, Stefan spent more than 17 years working directly for the Airbus group where he was heavily involved with a wide variety of major engineering programmes on both commercial aviation and defence & space programmes. In his new role, Stefan will be responsible for design, analysis and modification of the D328eco airframe’s primary structure (Fuselage, Fairings, Wing, Empennage), as well as establishing new processes and procedures to complete aircraft development. Finally, he is responsible for ensuring compliance with the European Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations.

In addition to Peter, Jean Damien and Stefan, we are also proud to announce that we have been busy hiring new talent from not only within Germany, but from all over the world. Coming from a variety of companies within the aerospace industry, we look forward to utilising our new team members’ skills and expertise to achieve the entry into service scheduled for 2025.

All are great assets to the current Engineering & Programme team and will, without a doubt, help support Deutsche Aircraft’s development programme over the coming years.
